MY DESIGN AESTHETIC

My design aesthetic is rooted in what I call down-to-earth luxury—a thoughtful balance of refinement and approachability that celebrates the harmony between nature and human experience. I’m drawn to the juxtaposition of elements: sleek lines with organic textures, opulence with simplicity, and bold statement pieces set against serene, functional backdrops. Lighting plays a vital role in shaping mood and spatial perception, and I carefully consider its impact, natural and artificial alike, to highlight decorative detailing and enrich the sensory experience. I love working with both symmetry and asymmetry, always aiming for a sense of balance and visual harmony. Nature is a constant muse, and I often incorporate what I affectionately call "nature’s treasures," like driftwood, gemstones, dried botanicals, shells, gold, silver, resins, live-edge wood and similar materials, into designs that speak to beauty, texture, and story. My work integrates biophilic principles, using sensory fabrics, matte and shine finishes, and curated color palettes to elevate spaces that feel grounded yet inspiring. Ultimately, my aesthetic is about creating interiors that evoke emotion, invite interaction, and offer a touch of magic grounded in intentional design.

MY BACKGROUND

My background in design and decorating is rooted in a blend of creative client- focused problem-solving, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of how spaces shape human experience. I’ve led and collaborated on a variety of residential and commercial interior projects, managing everything from initial concept development to final staging and post-project evaluation.

At the heart of my process is a human-centered approach, beginning with project programming and analysis. I consult directly with clients to define objectives, priorities, budgets, timelines, and functional requirements—while also considering larger contextual elements like cultural influences, behavioral patterns, accessibility needs, and relevant regulations. I believe great design emerges at the intersection of beauty and intention.

My work is grounded in space planning that purposed in creating balance, flow and comfort. I craft adjacency diagrams, floor plans, and prototypical layouts that comply to code as was as day-to-day livability. I bring ideas to life through mood boards, sketches, 2D/3D renderings, and curated material selections. I place special emphasis on sensory design, lighting, sustainable choices, and ergonomics, ensuring that every space is as nurturing as it is functional.

One of the guiding principles in my design philosophy is the integration of biophilic design, which I weave into spaces using natural patterns, fractals, and textures that echo the rhythms of the environment. I utilize the concept of prospect & refuge, creating spaces that offer open, airy expanses and comfortable private retreats. I guide users through spatial experiences, modes of mystery and organized complexity, that unfold gradually and with intention.

I’m drawn to rich, sumptuous textures that invite touch and create atmosphere. I often juxtapose opulence with simplicity and functionality, layering tactile beauty over minimal forms to create spaces that feel luxurious yet grounded. This balance is where I believe timelessness and emotional resonance live.

Throughout my career, I’ve also led design presentations, managed FF&E schedules, handled procurement and staging, and collaborated closely with contractors and vendors. From retail branding and merchandising to home staging and remodeling, I’ve worked across a variety of scales, always focused on aligning design goals with the client's vision and lifestyle.

Ultimately, I see design as a form of storytelling and emotional architecture spaces should not only reflect personal identity but also elevate daily life. I bring that belief, along with a deep sense of care and curiosity, to every project I touch.
